About Paul Miller

Paul Miller is a Chartered Engineer and Sustainability Director at KJ Tait. Based in Edinburgh, Paul supports developers, landlords, design teams and estate managers across the UK on sustainable building design and energy performance. Since 2015, Paul has led projects involving energy modelling, building services design and whole life carbon assessment.

NABERS and Building Performance

NABERS and Building Performance Paul plays a key role in NABERS UK Design for Performance and is an experienced IES Apache user for HVAC simulation. He was involved in Scotland’s first NABERS Design for Performance project at Semple Street, which achieved a Design Reviewed Target Rating of 5 stars.

Role at KJ Tait

As Sustainability Director, Paul leads on embodied carbon, operational energy and building performance strategy across major commercial projects. His work covers overheating analysis, whole life carbon reporting and advising clients on addressing the performance gap between design intent and in-use operation.

Industry Involvement

Paul is a member of the Energy Institute and supports junior engineers. He promotes best practice in building services engineering and sustainable design across the industry.
