Mark is a Chartered Engineer and Director of KJ Tait Engineers, with over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry and more than 30 years as a Director of the business. He is based between the Edinburgh and London offices and works on projects across Scotland, London and the South of England, as well as nationally.
Mark has extensive experience across the construction sector, with a strong track record in commercial offices, industrial developments, education, retail, healthcare and leisure projects. His depth of experience enables him to provide clear leadership on complex commissions, from early briefing through to delivery.
As Director, Mark provides overall management control and acts as the principal point of contact for clients and design teams. He is responsible for ensuring clarity of client requirements, cost compliance and that projects are appropriately resourced to meet programme objectives.
Mark has led a wide range of high value and technically complex projects, including major commercial office developments in Edinburgh and London, healthcare facilities, education campuses and mixed use developments delivered through national framework commissions. His role typically includes strategic oversight, programme management and coordination of multi disciplinary design teams to ensure consistent quality and delivery standards.
In addition to his project role, Mark holds several senior leadership responsibilities within the business. He leads the management of national framework commissions and plays a key role in promoting KJ Tait’s energy, environmental, wellbeing and BREEAM services.
Mark is also the Director responsible for Health and Safety. He ensures that all staff receive appropriate training for both office and site environments and leads the implementation of ISO 45001 processes and procedures across the company.
