  • The regeneration of the 8.5 acre former fruit market site at Chesser Avenue, Edinburgh into a major new residential and retail scheme. The Edinburgh West Retail Park comprises five retail units and three kiosks ranging from c 16,900ft2 to 1,000ft2 in size, and 285 car parking spaces.

Our input in retail parks has also involved the provision of shell and core facilities for drive-thrus in various retail parks including Crown Street in Glasgow, Gateside in Haddington and Pallion in Sunderland.

KJ Tait have designed and managed the multi-utility services infrastructure to various sites which involved close liaison with the multi-utility contractor, local network asset owners and tenant meter operators to ensure a seamless delivery of utilities to meet the demanding development programme

KJ Tait were also responsible for the design of the external lighting scheme to the carparks, roads and service yard. This involved detailed site analysis to ensure the lighting scheme provided adequate illumination whilst taking into consideration the urban location and close vicinity of adjacent properties.

Further services included SBEM modelling and provision of an Energy Performance Certificate for the shell units to ensure the development met building regulations and planning requirements for reduction of energy use for incoming Tenants.
