This project comprised a new teacher training facility on the existing Sedgefield education campus. The facility included a new school assembly hall and Sixth Form breakout space.
There was a strong emphasis on wellbeing in the design. The engineering services design included ventilation which is activated when high CO2 levels are recorded, and there are good daylighting levels in each classroom.
Wind catchers were adopted to provide natural ventilation for the games hall and double height breakout space.
The campus utility network was modified to serve the new building and all services and controls were interfaced with the main campus control room.
