Bob joined KJ Tait to start the Cambridge office, which quickly became known for its expertise in science projects. The office has undertaken a range of significant projects, including complex science-park buildings and major developments for the University of Cambridge and its colleges. Notably, KJ Tait won the bid for the £212m Laboratory for Molecular Biology HQ in 2005, which was completed in 2013 and contributed to the development of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
Before joining KJ Tait, Bob worked on heritage mega projects across Europe, including the Tate Modern and the Rijksmuseum. Starting his career as a draughtsman and site worker in Sheffield, Bob developed strong visual communication skills, essential for integrating building systems into complex architectures.
He has collaborated with world-class architects and contributed to the Magdalene College Library's Stirling Prize win in 2022. Since 2017, Bob has been expanding KJ Tait’s presence in the North of England, heading the Manchester office to support the firm’s nationwide client base.
