Our involvement in schools includes working on projects in nursery, primary and secondary schools for both local authorities and independent schools. These projects range from the refurbishment of small classroom blocks to new school campus projects for 1,200 pupils.
Our role
On recent projects there has been a requirement for net zero carbon schools and for this we utilise dynamic simulation monitoring software to simulate zero carbon design options. There is also a move for local authority schools to be Passive House certified.
We have an in-house certified Passive House Designer who can work with Architects to assist in the engineering and thermal insulation issues associated with Passive House schemes or the Enerphit Refurbishment schemes.
For many years Soft Landings has been recognised as best practice for improving how buildings perform once occupied. Yet outside mandated public sector projects its uptake has remained limited.
Fundraising challenges are a highlight in the KJ Tait calendar bringing teams together for a shared purpose. This June 20 of us will take on the Mighty Hike in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.
