KJ Tait were appointed to undertake the full Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) design services for the recent refurbishment of the Ground Floor public areas and kitchen at the iconic Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire, Scotland.
The project encompassed a full internal reconfiguration and high-quality fit-out of all of the Ground Floor public bar, lounge and dining spaces, and adjacent circulation areas, as well as a comprehensive upgrade of the commercial kitchen facilities to support the Hotel's evolving culinary offering.
The electrical and mechanical services were reconfigured and upgraded throughout to suit the new layouts and aesthetic aspirations. Particular focus was given to the coordination of air-conditioning, ventilation, drainage, and life safety systems within the constrained footprint of this busy, operational Hotel.
While feature lighting design was led by the Interior Designers, KJ Tait worked closely with them to develop integrated lighting control regimes that supported the visual ambitions of the scheme. This included full coordination of lighting control systems, emergency lighting strategy, and ensuring seamless operational functionality across all public spaces.
KJ Tait’s collaborative approach ensured all technical systems were delivered in harmony with the interior design vision, meeting the Client’s programme and operational requirements without compromise.
