Higher & Further Education - Thoughts

Date
17 June 2022

Some of our University and Further Education Clients are open to accepting higher internal temperatures and reducing mechanical cooling provision to reduce energy consumption.

The impact of reducing or eliminating cooling in Education projects needs to be carefully assessed with thermal modelling carried out to review the overheating risk.

We utilise the CIBSE Guide TM52 to assess overheating risks and we can utilise microflow analysis to simulate the influence of natural ventilation.  This analysis will influence the design to limit overheating to acceptable levels as defined in TM52.
