Energy savings at Woodlands Hospital

Date
30 October 2024

It is a year since we posted about early engagement with Woodlands Hospice to help reduce their energy costs and improve comfort in staff areas.

During our surveys, we found various items of plant and controls failing, had failed or were operating inefficiently.   With a review of the Hospice’s requirements and some very charitable assistance from @RCS and @B-Engineering, they repaired and replaced parts to get things back to where they should be.

Since then, we have been monitoring energy consumption quarterly: the work has been a huge success with the gas and electricity consumption being 15% - 25% lower each month compared to before the upgrade works.

Additionally, new fresh air movement in the offices fixed the overheating issues.

We will continue to monitor the energy consumption for Woodlands Hospice to ensure that the facility continues to operate as efficiently as possible.
