Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels, Scotland’s oldest registered trading company and a leading independent hotel operator, is embarking on a significant refurbishment project that promises to enhance the guest experience at its flagship property, Crieff Hydro Hotel.  As the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) consultants for the project, KJ Tait is excited to contribute to the transformation of this iconic resort.

The refurbishment will focus on the Wintergarden and Meikle restaurant areas, creating a vibrant atmosphere that aligns with the evolving needs of guests.  The project will introduce a new day-to-night bar, refurbished dining areas, and a speakeasy bar, all designed to provide a fresh look and feel for hotel guests, Country Club members, and the local community all whilst the hotel remains operational throughout the work.

KJ Tait is committed to ensuring that the engineering services align seamlessly with the overall vision for the refurbishment.  Our role includes a complete redesign of the HVAC and lighting systems for lower carbon alternatives.

The project on site is set to commence in January 2025, with the new areas expected to be unveiled in the spring.  As Stephen Leckie, CEO of Crieff Hydro, stated, “We’ve taken great care to plan this project around our guests,” emphasising the importance of guest experience in the design and execution of the refurbishment.

We will work closely with the Main Contractor to develop a detailed programme of works, which will include critical tasks such as the procurement of plant, installation of new systems, and commissioning.  Our team will ensure that all installations are completed in accordance with the design intent and specifications, maintaining the high standards that Crieff Hydro is known for.
