The project at 1-7 Harley Street achieved a long awaited milestone with a Topping Out ceremony held on a sunny July afternoon with the Main Contractor (Deconstruct), Client (The Howard de Walden Estate) and Sonnemann Toon Architects and RWA Structural Engineers, as well as KJ Tait.
KJ Tait originally commenced work on the project in 2019 to assist the Client team to achieve a successful planning application in 2020.
Detailed design of a cutting edge consulting and diagnostic facility worthy of the prime address followed the planning approval with tendering of works to allow the Main Contractor to commence on site in July 2023, two weeks after vacant possession of the site. The Project is a complicated basement excavation, retaining façade and perimeter structure. The energy strategy for the building is all electric consisting of a hybrid solution of both air source and ground source heat pumps.
Next phase will hopefully include KJ Tait advising the prospective Tenant on their fit-out.
