We recognise our responsibility in relation to the community and the environment. Our policy is to be sensitive to local community issues as an employer and as an engineering design company involved in construction projects.
KJ Tait Engineers’ policy extends to supporting appropriate charities, providing occasional free design consultancy service for good causes and supporting local schools colleges and universities by providing work experience for students. KJ Tait Engineers has carried out many commissions over several years throughout the UK on a pro bono basis for Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres. The Maggie’s Centres Foundation, dedicated to the memory of Maggie Keswick Jenks, provides emotional, practical and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends.VIEW Maggie’s Centres
Our engineers are encouraged to provide advice to schools and institutions in relation to careers in engineering services. Our staff include STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) Ambassadors who promote these subjects to school pupils, encouraging them to take appropriate subjects at school and informing them of possible careers available in these fields. Our STEM Ambassadors pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm for these subjects through various activities, including demonstrations at science festivals and careers fairs and judging at national science competitions.
Each office carries out recycling of all possible waste. We consider and seek to reduce the effect of all our activities on the environment.
