KJ Tait has a dedicated in-house  Energy Team who provide Energy Design and Consultancy Services.  The services which the Team offer include standalone commissions and supporting our Engineering Design Consultancy and Facilities Management services.

The Team are focussed on delivering low carbon projects in accordance with Local Authority regulatory requirements to meet Client objectives.

Low energy and low carbon design are embedded in the design of all our projects and in projects where we have  an ongoing Facilities Management role.  The Energy Team play a major part in enhancing this service by keeping abreast of new developments in the energy sector.

The Energy Team have expertise in developing building models using IES 4D software and specialist software packages which estimate operational and embodied carbon in support of Low or Zero Carbon requirements.

The Team advise and support Clients in improving their carbon footprint and create roadmaps to deliver Net Zero Carbon ready projects.

KJ Tait Energy are actively involved in capturing building operational energy details and creating benchmarks for building types.  These benchmarks are being used to set future carbon targets and a programme to achieve net zero operational carbon targets.

KJ Tait Energy are active participants in the LETI initiative and are working on a LETI pioneer project.  LETI are a driving force in the low carbon agenda and support the targets and roadmaps they produce.

The Energy Team have an active role in the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) and are Accredited Assessors for the NABERS scheme which provides a simple, reliable sustainability rating for the built environment.

The Team’s support to project work includes:

  • Energy reports in support of planning
  • Compliance assessments
  • Guidance on the London Plan
  • Low and zero carbon design support
  • Dynamic simulation energy modelling of design options
  • Zero carbon design and roadmap advice
