The Worshipful Company of Mercers is the premier Livery Company in London and was incorporated under a Royal Charter in 1394. Today the Company exists primarily as a charitable institution, with a significant property estate holding, including two key areas of central London namely the Covent Garden Portfolio and the City Portfolio in the City of London.
The City Portfolio is a collection of buildings around Frederick’s Place, which includes the Mercers’ Livery Hall and lies within the Guildhall Conservation Area in close proximity to the Bank of England. Having successfully worked on masterplan feasibility studies for the wider proposed masterplan for Frederick’s Place, work on the first phase of development commenced in 2014. . This involved the full restoration and refurbishment of listed Robert Adam townhouses.
This project was completed in 2019 and KJ Tait then assisted with the CAT B fit-outs.
