The John Gray Centre

Housed within a beautiful historic building in the centre of Haddington, the restoration of the A-listed property required innovative and sensitive solutions to incorporate the MEP engineering services. The centre brings together the Haddington branch library, the East Lothian local history centre, a museum and exhibition space, and the East Lothian Archives. KJ Tait Engineers provided full MEP engineering design services for this project.

The Centre is a vibrant hub, accommodating a wide variety of community activities such as writers’ groups, archaeology talks, art classes and events for families and young people. An extensive community and outreach programme is also provided. The National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic Scotland provided funding assistance.
