Harvey Court was designed by Leslie Martin and was constructed in the early 1960s with minor cosmetic works carried out during its lifetime. The interior and exterior of the building are Grade II listed and provide student halls of residence for Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. This refurbishment project involved the complete renovation of the building envelope, including additional insulation to improve environmental efficiency. All the MEP engineering services were replaced, including ventilation with heat recovery throughout and solar-thermal hot water generation. The student rooms were all provided with en-suite bathrooms, and two rooms adapted for wheelchair users. All alterations were made with care and sensitivity to the heritage value of the building.
