Forth Valley College

Alloa and Stirling

Forth Valley College’s new campuses at Stirling and Alloa represent a major new development for further and higher education in Central Scotland.

In Stirling a new £15m, 7,500 m² campus provides state-of-the-art facilities for 1,500 students, delivering a wide range of subjects including construction, engineering, leisure and creative industries. Alloa Campus provides construction, engineering, electronics and computing subjects to over 800 students accommodated within a striking new £12m, 5,500 m² building. Both campuses employ thin-client ICT infrastructure, which is recognised as giving considerable sustainability benefits due to the reduced requirement for air conditioning and mechanical ventilation within the teaching spaces.

This, in addition to careful consideration of the building and its materials, ensured that low-energy sustainable design was delivered, with both campuses achieving BREEAM Excellent.
