Cricket Scotland, National Indoor Cricket Academy

The National Cricket Academy was completed with the aid of funding from the National Lottery, and provides a multi–use recreational facility for the Scottish Cricket Union and Erskine Stewarts Melville School. The facility includes an indoor cricket hall, aerobics, warm-up and fitness suites as well as changing and administration areas. The hall can also accommodate a full-size basketball court, full-size hockey pitch and six badminton courts.

KJ Tait Engineers undertook full MEP engineering design duties for this project, and all services were designed in accordance with Sport Scotland guidance and CIBSE recommendations for services in cricket facilities. For example, lighting is designed to achieve a maximum of 1000 lux lighting level with particularly strict uniformity in both horizontal and vertical planes, permitting video and TV recording.
