Cambridge Science Park

KJ Tait Engineers carried out the full MEP engineering services design of four biotech laboratory research projects on Cambridge Science Park. Each project is between 30,000 ft² and 35,000 ft² and comprises one-third office space, lecture rooms and social space, and two-thirds laboratory areas. Each project is two storeys with a full-height roof-level plantroom above the laboratory block.

The specialist laboratory areas include chemistry, molecular biology, tissue culture, fermentation, crystallisation, protein production, NMR, radioactivity, radio isotope, X-ray rooms, histology, bio-reactor, robot room and analytical equipment rooms. Although each project was customised for each tenant, the design is in a modular format to enable the facility to be customised for new tenants or sub-tenants.
