Bannockburn Battlefield Project

This innovative new visitor centre has changed the way visitors experience Bannockburn, making it a truly world-class site for this defining moment in Scotland’s history.

The new facility opened prior to the 700th anniversary of the battle in 2014 and houses a unique and exciting exhibition immersing the visitor in the sights and sounds of medieval battle. A new shop, café and education facilities are also incorporated within the building and a 3D simulation allows visitors to experience medieval warfare. Full MEP design services were undertaken by KJ Tait Engineers.

The Battle of Bannockburn project is a partnership between the National Trust for Scotland and Historic Scotland, funded by the Scottish Government and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
