Graduate/Trainee Mechanical Engineer – Cambridge
We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate or Trainee Mechanical Design Engineer to join our well-established Cambridge office to support our growing workload and established Client base.
You will join our established team of engineers who will provide guidance and training to enable you to develop into a well-rounded Building Services Design Engineer. You will be given experience and responsibility in all aspects of the design process and will assist in producing low energy, creative design solutions, to both scheme and detailed design level including carrying out site inspections/surveys, preparing specifications and project reports, attending meetings and carrying out site inspections. You will work across a variety of sectors such as Science & Research, Education, Commercial, Healthcare, and Heritage buildings.
Applicants should have an interest and aptitude for Engineering, and either be degree qualified in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Energy, or Building Services Engineering or similar) or a sixth form leaver with suitable A-Level qualifications to commence a relevant part time degree course. Experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a building services context (ventilation, cooling and air conditioning, heating systems, thermal modelling, etc.) would be advantageous but not essential. Experience in working with relevant design software (IES, Revit, etc.) would be an advantage.
You will be collaborative and be able to demonstrate personal confidence and strong technical and communication skills.
We have an established training and development programme that will be tailored to suit you. We encourage and support our Engineers to obtain Chartered Engineer status. School leavers will be sponsored through a suitable Engineering academic course through day release or distance learning.
