Queen opens KJ Tait designed TIC University of Strathclyde

KJ Tait Engineers carried out full detailed design of all M&E services for the £89m valued Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) as well as performing the sustainability role.

As a centre for renewable energy research it was imperative that the TIC Building was designed to exhibit the best possible low energy credentials and at the outset of the project a target of achieving carbon emissions of 20% less than the current Building Regulations was set.

This was achieved resulting in an A rated EPC and an Excellent BREEAM rating.
