Princes Square

Glasgow

Princes Square has long been recognised as one of the foundations of Glasgow’s ‘Style Mile’ and new owners Redevco wanted to retain that reputation when they purchased the centre. Shortly after the purchase, KJ Tait Engineers was appointed along with other design team members to carry out a phased refurbishment of the mall and common areas. The £6m refurbishment contract incorporated: relocation of central plant from basement to roof to create additional usable space; formation of new toilet facilities within the public south east stair; replacement of existing passenger and goods lifts and installation of a new passenger lift; new lighting, fire alarms, CCTV and ventilation to the mall areas; and new external lighting on Buchanan Street façade.
