Centrica

Aberdeen

This project was the fit-out of a Class A speculative office development in the heart of Aberdeen city centre for Centrica Upstream. The accommodation comprises 6,500 m² with occupancy of 450 staff and provides a data centre, fully functioning café and executive suite in addition to high-specification office accommodation and support spaces. The project included the installation of a floor-based cooling system to meet the office environment demands and a security system that was designed and installed to integrate with the group security headquarters building in Windsor, in addition to all other standard office services.

Value engineering and sustainability played an important part in the project, which had to be accommodated within tight programme constraints. The client’s data centre had to be located within the building and required a phased handover of live services to facilitate commissioning of the data centre during the fit-out programme. The challenging programme relied on a partnership approach between the design team and the contractors on site.
